Approved ... BCBSIL

I work night shift, woke up and there was a call from the surgeons office. The message was just a basic "this is Judy, please call me back". talk about "FREAK OUT", of course when I called back she was busy. So I called the insurance company. They beat around the bush, but read a letter stating I was APPROVED!!! I am so excited! I cannot wait to get a date.

Everything was submitted 10/1/08... I did one year non-surgical weight management with an MD, nut, counselor and excercise physiologist. Jumped through all the hoops including psych eval, initial consult, 5 years of medical history from PCP, as well as letter of medical necessity from him.

Congratulations on your approval! I too also found out today I was approved by BCBS CA when I called to get an update. I'm scheduled for November 12.

Great news Jennifer!
I talked to surgeons office and will get a date tommorrow. It will either be Nov 4th, 11th or 12th ... depending on a few factors. I AM SOOO EXCITED. It is like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders!
keep me posted on how you're doing. Since our dates are so close together maybe we can be loser friends or something.
